Men step in raising your left hand – ladies step in under the man’s arm, turning slightly to your right as you try to take hold of the man’s offered hand behind his back. Men take your right hand away from behind your back before your lady can take hold and continue to swap sides lowering your left arm behind your back into a half nelson – as you do this offer your right hand out to the right at waist level, let go with your left hand behind your back and slide and catch right to right. Men step in to begin to swap sides like you would in a Half Windmill, pulling down and then raising your right hand. Men as you turn to your left, throw your right hand away behind your back to spin the ladies in an anti-clockwise direction. Step back having changed sides catching man’s left to lady’s right.

Move 2 = Return Close Hold

Men step in to the left of the ladies as you look at her, raising both your hands together over your head as you turn to your left underneath. When the ladies come round to face – men keep your left hand raised as you throw your right hand down and out to the left – letting go to spin your lady 1 extra turn in a clockwise direction. Men lower your left hand to face. Return. Step back.

Move 4 = Lady’s Wrap & Duck Spin = Step back right to right, men signaling by offering their left hand by their right hip. Both step in so that your partner is on your right hand side, men take your right hand up near your left shoulder, ladies with your left hand take hold of the man’s offered hand by his hip. Men extend your right hand out to the right so the ladies turn half a turn to her right on the spot. Men pivot to your right to face your lady as you take your right hand in between you, then over the lady’s head, to turn the ladies half a turn to her left – once the lady’s back is facing you, men lower your right hand down near your lady’s left hip – the man’s arms should be crossed behind the lady’s back and the lady’s arms crossed in front of herself. Men apply a little pressure with your right forearm on the lady’s back to make the ladies bend forwards. Men pull gently with your left hand as you push gently with your right hand to make the ladies start to turn to her right in a clockwise direction underneath your arms whilst she is bent over. Ladies, once you have completed 1 whole turn, stand up – your back should be facing the men. Men let go with your right hand, push away with your left hand and step back sliding and catching man’s left to lady’s right.

Move 3 = Mirrored Catapult First Move = Step back man’s left to lady’s right. Step in as the man pulls down and then raises his left hand out to the left, to make the ladies turn to their right underneath. Men take another step forward and keep facing away from your lady as you transfer the lady’s hand from your left to your right behind your back. Move 4 = Neckbreak Pretzel = Step back man’s left to lady’s right – men signalling with your right arm in an ‘L’ shape at shoulder height. Both step in so that your partner is on your right hand side, men taking your left hand up near your left shoulder while you take your right hand over the lady’s left shoulder with your palm facing the floor so that you can see your fingertips as you look behind the lady’s head – your right hand/arm should not be in contact with the ladies at this point. Men stay on the spot as you take your left hand down towards the lady’s hip & across in front of her at waist level to make her twist out to the side like a First Move Lady’s step back on your right) – and as the lady now faces the same way, men with your right hand tap your lady on her right shoulder – ladies take hold with your left hand. Men push with your right arm to twist your lady forwards slightly to her left (a shallow twist). Men keep hold with both hands as you step forwards pivoting ½ turn clockwise – pushing with your left hand and pulling with your right hand to make your lady step forwards like you pivoting clockwise – you should end up both facing the same way, with the lady to the man’s left. Men side step behind your lady as you raise your right hand to turn your lady anti-clockwise. As the lady comes round to face, men lower & keep hold with your right hand, as you raise your left hand & men pivot ¾ turn anticlockwise underneath your left hand. Men once you have finished turning to your left, your lady should be to your left, as you sweep your left hand down in between you, then out in front of your lady, before raising your left hand over your lady’s head. Like a Pretzel now, both side step to your left behind each other, passing back to back, men lowering your left hand to waist level as you raise your right hand over the lady’s head. Men look at your partner as you drop your right elbow in between your faces and take your right hand over your head to lead the lady behind you as the man side steps to the right. Men lower and let go with your right hand as you raise your left hand to unwrap the ladies in an anti-clockwise direction. Step back.

Beginner Moves

Move 1 = First Move       Move 2 = Basket       Move 3 = Side to Side

Intermediate Moves

Move 1 = Almost Pretzel Block Spin = Both step back man’s left to lady’s right, men offering your right hand in a half nelson position behind your back. Both step in, men raise your left arm to make the ladies step underneath and start turning to their right, as you take your offered right hand away before your lady has a chance to grab it, then turn to your left and place your right hand onto the lady’s outstretched left forearm – blocking her. Men pull back and let go with your right hand at waist level as you raise your left hand over your lady’s head to turn her anti-clockwise as you both continue to swap sides. Step back lowering your hands to face.

Move 2 = Wurlitzer Wraparound = Beats 1, 2 & 3 as per a normal Wurlitzer. Men keep hold with your right hand as you flick it across to the right at waist level to wrap your lady anti-clockwise into a Basket. Men do not offer their left hand, but instead whilst keeping the Basket postion – both rotate about 1 whole turn clockwise over 2 beats, with the men walking forwards & the ladies walking backwards. Once you’ve finished the 2 beats of walking round, men pull with your right hand at waist level to make your lady step out unwrapping clockwise round to face & men take your right hand across to the left at waist level in preparation for a spin just like you’d do in a normal Wurlitzer. Spin the ladies anti-clockwise. Catch right to right.

Move 3 = Catapull

Move 4 = Handcuffed Swizzle = Beats 1, 2, 3 & 4 as per a normal Armjive. Men raise your left hand to turn the ladies as normal – but keep hold with your right hand at waist level. As the ladies come round to face (the lady’s left arm is in a half nelson behind her back) – men throw & let go with the lady’s right hand (man’s left hand) down to the right of the man’s extended right arm – men immediately use your left hand to catch the lady’s right hand underneath the man’s extended right arm (you should now have crossed arms). Men step forwards to nearly swap sides, turning to your right to face, as you gently pull with both hands low at waist level to make your lady step forwards turning to her left to nearly face – the man’s arms should now be uncrossed, with the lady’s right arm now in a half nelson behind her back. Men raise your right hand out in front of your lady and then over her head to make her step forwards swapping sides turning clockwise, as the man steps to the right back onto the side he started from. Face with a normal double handhold. Men let go with your right as you return your lady anti-clockwise. Step back.

Beginner Moves

Move 1 = Pushspin       Move 2 = Catapult       Move 3 = Manspin

Intermediate Moves

Move 1 = Armjive Man’s Turn = Beats 1, 2 & 3 as per a normal Armjive. Both pull back with your left hand again, but men take your left hand over your head, let go with your right hand & turn ¾ turn to your left on the spot underneath your raised left hand. Men lower you hand to face and step back – you should be side on to your lady. Men take a large side step to your left past your lady as you pull with your left hand across in front of you at waist level to make the lady step forwards in front of you to begin to swap sides. Men pull back and let go with your left hand at waist level to spin your lady clockwise. Catch man’s left to lady’s right having swapped sides. Return. Step back.

Move 2 = Pretzel Basket = Men step back signalling for a normal Pretzel - man’s left to lady’s right, with man’s right hand offered behind his back in a half nelson. Both step in, men raising your left hand over the lady’s head as the ladies take hold of the man’s offered hand behind his back. Pass back to back, men lowering your left hand to waist level as you raise your right hand over the lady’s head. Men let go with your left hand as you keep your right hand raised to start turning your lady clockwise – as the lady starts to turn, men quickly turn to your right to face your lady & step in to the left beside your lady & take hold of the lady’s right hand with your left hand at waist level – the lady as she keep turning clockwise is now wrapping into the mirror image of a Basket. Men as you lower your right hand to waist level, keep turning to your right until you face the same way as your lady, side by side, with the lady to the man’s left, both in the mirror image of a Basket. Men raise your right hand to make your lady step forward unwrapping anti-clockwise. As the ladies come round to face, keep hold with both hands – men lower your right hand to waist level as you raise your left hand to keep turning your lady anti-clockwise to wrap your lady into a normal Basket. Cradle backwards – this is the start of the next move…

Move 3 = Basket Cog Turn

Move 4 = Accordion Duck Catapult = Step back right to right. Men turn the ladies in an anti-clockwise direction. When the ladies come round to face, men keep your right hand high and offer your left hand to your lady at waist level as you both take a small step to your own left. Men keep your left hand at waist level as you step back into the middle raising your right hand over the lady’s head to turn her in a clockwise direction. When the ladies come round to face men take your right hand over your head like you would in a Comb – ladies your left hand is behind your back in a half nelson position. Men keep hold with your left hand, as you let go with your right hand and roll your head to your left underneath the lady’s arm. Men raise your head back up to face your lady with her right hand/forearm resting on your right shoulder, then place the back of your right hand against the back of the lady’s forearm and push away to turn the ladies in an anti-clockwise direction, as the man turns to his right half a turn. Men with your back facing your lady (still holding on with your left hand) offer your right hand out behind you like a Catapult. Just like a Catapult now – Men step back to the right bringing your lady into the left. Spin the ladies clockwise. Catch. Return. Step back.
