Move 2 = Ladyspin

Move 3 = Octopus

Intermediate Moves

Move 1 = Hatchback Combo = Beats 1, 2 & 3 as per a normal Hatchback. Men remain facing the same way with your back to your lady as you offer your right hand out behind you and backcatch right to right. Men step back to the right as you transfer the lady’s hand from your right to your left behind your back and extend your left hand out in front of the ladies at waist level. Men take another step back as you pull and let go with your left hand to spin the ladies in front of you in a clockwise direction. Catch man’s left to lady’s right. Return. Step back.

Move 2 = Catapult Secret Block Spin = Beats 1 & 2 as per a normal Catapult. Men step forwards and lean forwards as normal but offer your left hand underneath your right arm, past your right hip – do not turn at all to face the lady. Men step back to the left, as you pull with your right hand at waist level to make your lady step forwards into your right hand side – ladies take hold of the man’s offered left hand with your left (you should now both be side by side facing the same way). Men keeping hold with both hands (don’t do anything with the left), pull with the right hand at waist level to make your lady turn 1 complete turn anti-clockwise on the spot – as the lady is turning men quickly step round behind her & in beside her on the other side – men keep your right hand at waist level, but flip it over and open it so you are now palm to palm & blocking your lady (you should again both be side by side facing the same way, but with the lady now on the man’s left). Men pull back and let go with your right hand to spin your lady clockwise, as you step forwards swapping sides turning to your left to face (keep hold with your left hand for as long as possible, but you will have to let go eventually as the lady spins). Slide and catch man’s left to lady’s right. Travelling return. Step back.

Move 3 = First Move Triple Step = Beats 1 & 2 as per a normal First Move. Twist the ladies out to the side as you would do normally but make sure you both step back with your outside foot. Men adopt a ballroom grip and draw an arc with your left hand as you both turn in to face each other and do a triple step to the man’s left – men step with their left foot, bring their right foot together, and step with their left foot again (throughout the whole move the ladies footwork is a mirror image of the man’s). Men with your weight now over your left foot and the ladies weight over her right foot both pivot half a turn to the man’s right and then do a second triple step to the man’s right – men step with their right, together with their left, and step with their right. Men twist the ladies out to the side – both stepping back with your outside foot. Men draw an arc with your left hand as you both turn in to face each other and do a triple step to the man’s left – men step with their left foot, right foot together, and step with their left foot again (the ladies footwork is still a mirror image of the man’s). Men with your weight now over your left foot and the ladies weight over her right foot both pivot half a turn to the man’s right and then do a second triple step to the man’s right – men step with their right, together with their left, and step with their right. Men twist the ladies out to the side – both stepping back with your outside foot. Men bring your left hand to your left shoulder. Turn the ladies in a clockwise direction. Face. Return. Step back.

Move 4 = Double Handed Nelson Parcel = Step back with a double handhold. Men step in taking your left hand towards your right hip – flipping your lady’s right hand over so that she turns to her left as she steps in, while men at the same time raise your right hand out to the right and onto her right shoulder – you should end up stood side by side facing the same way, with the man on the left, the lady’s right arm behind her back in a half nelson, and the man’s right hand (with lady’s left hand) on the lady’s right shoulder. Men sway your lady backwards & then forwards, keeping your lady in the same position facing the same way. Men, keep hold with both hands & gently pull with your right hand to start turning your lady clockwise, as you step forwards alongside pivoting a ¼ turn to your right to face. As you briefly face each other, men lower your right hand to waist level as you flick your left hand out to the left (keeping hold) at shoulder level to keep your lady turning clockwise – as you continue to walk alongside your lady pivoting another ¼ turn to your right – you should end up stood side by side facing the way you’ve just come from, with the man on the right, the lady’s left arm behind her back in a half nelson, and the man’s left hand (with lady’s right hand) on the lady’s left shoulder. Men let go with your right hand as you raise your left hand to return your lady 1 & ½ turns anti-clockwise. Step back to face.

Keeping hold with both hands in this position, both walk round for 2 beats in a clockwise direction. Men extend your left hand out in front of you (but not so far that you bend the lady’s arm the wrong way!). Men take your left hand over the top of your right arm & let go with it, as you also let go with your right hand behind your lady’s head – you should now have the first block, right forearm to right forearm. Men push down with your right arm to start turning your lady clockwise & using your right hand – catch the lady’s right wrist for the second block. Men pull and let go with your right hand at waist level to spin your lady anti-clockwise. Face and catch man’s left to lady’s right.

Move 2 = Octopus

Move 3 = Wurlitzer

Intermediate Moves

Move 1 = Basket into Ladyspin

Move 2 = Pretzel Shoulder Spin = Both step back mans left hand to ladies right hand, men, offer your right hand in a half nelson position behind your back. Both step in, men, raise your left arm and take your offered right hand away before your ladies have a chance to grab it. Both pass back to back, both pivoting to your own right as you continue to swap sides, men, lower your left arm in to a half nelson behind your back & then men raise their straightened right arm up over the lady’s head and then lower their right hand onto the lady’s left shoulder – you should now be side by side facing opposite directions. Both walk round in a clockwise direction for 2 beats. Men let go with your left hand as you turn to your right to face your lady, whilst pulling & letting go with your right hand on the lady’s shoulder – to spin her in a clockwise direction. Catch right to right. Return. Step back.

Move 3 = Double 8 = Step back right to right. Men step forward and slightly to your left as you raise your right hand, stepping under your ladies raised right arm and pivoting to your left – ladies step straight forward. Men as you continue to swap sides and turn to your left to face your lady, dip your right hand in between you on the halfbeat before raising it over the lady’s head to turn her in a clockwise direction. When she comes round to face lower your hands to waist level & men perform a quick clockwise Manspin on the spot – letting go with your right hand as you turn & as you face catch man’s left to lady’s right. Men now perform a normal Step Across so you both swap sides again. Face. Return, Step back.
